Transoral Gastroplasty !

Transoral Gastroplasty is a new kind of incision-free weight loss surgery. It is performed by an expert surgeon and involves stapling the stomach to form a thumb-size tube that holds only a small amount of meal.

The Transoral Gastroplasty procedure includes a set of flexible devices (a combination of surgical stapler, suction unit, clamp, and tissue-spreading retractor) to be inserted through the mouth of patients into the stomach to staple the stomach. It is performed beneath common anesthesia and takes approximately one to two hours to complete. Normally safety protocol, you are placed on a respirator to help regulate your breathing during the surgery.

Once you have been knocked out and are breathing comfortably, the stapler is inserted into your mouth and fed through to your stomach. Your surgeon will then add an endoscope (flexible camera) into your stomach to be able to observe throughout the process.
